Rossi Doesn't Believe in Hydrinos

Thanks to Sammy for bringing attention to this brief, but interesting Q & A on the Journal of Nuclear Physics. Like him, I’m a bit surprised that Andrea Rossi answered this question because it deals with the theory of a potential competitor — Blacklight Power, and he says his policy is not to discuss competitors. The hydrino theory (where normal hydrogen atoms ‘shrink’ under the BLP process) is central to Randell Mills’ explanation of the excess energy that is reportedly being produced in BLP’s systems.

No.

Rossi apparently is aware of Randell Mills’ hydrino theory then, or probably he wouldn’t have answered the question. Rossi said recently that he was going to make a publication which would deal with theoretical aspects of his work (except for talking about certain issues that are considered secret), so it’s going to be interesting the differences between his and Mills’ ideas. At this point it’s hard to know how different the E-Cat and BLP processes are, especially as we have really no idea what Rossi’s process involves — but it is setting up to be an interesting comparison.
