Andrea Rossi’s Reading List

February 19, 2013
By

A reader of the Journal of Nuclear Physics recently asked Andrea Rossi about some of his favorite science and mathematics books, and Rossi has been happy to give his responses. I thought it might be useful to some to list them here — perhaps serious students might want to get hold of some of these books books to maybe get an idea of some of the places Rossi goes for information and ideas.

Collective Electrodynamics: Quantum Foundations of Electromagnetism – Carver A. Mead, Massachusetts Inst. of Technology, 2000

Nuclear Models – Prof Walter Greiner, Prof. Joachim A. Maruhn, Berlin 2008 (“Not the one I prefer, but the one that has been more useful to me . . . warning: is not easy, it’s studying, not reading.”)

Summary Of Mathematics — Sergio Focardi, Milan, 1997 (“a real jewel . . . short but complete and intense”)

The interpretation of quantum mechanics- Roland Omnes, Princeton 1994

QED and the Men who Made it – Silvan S. Schweber, Princeton 1994

The Particle at the End of the Universe: How the Hunt for the Higgs Boson Leads Us to the Edge of a New World – Prof. Sean Carroll, New York 2012 (favorite science or engineering book)

Models Of the Atomic Nucleus: Unification Through a Lattice of Nucleons: – Prof. Norman D. Cook- Berlin 2006 (favorite nuclear physics book)

Physics Today (favorite scientific journal)

Of course the books listed do not provide readers the secrets of the E-Cat, but it’s always interesting to know what kinds of materials influential and successful people are reading. Maybe Rossi could start his own book club!

Summary Of Mathematics — Sergio Focardi, Milan, 1997 (“a real jewel . . . short but complete and intense”)

I can’t find any information about this book on google or various university’s libraries.

Does anyone know how to access it?

Wonderful day, another few thousand die through lack of clean water but I am sure everybody concerned is doing there best to make sure that Cold Fusion becomes available very quickly.

Ah, well we are becalmed. We attend upon the wind.

    • Peter Roe on February 20, 2013 at 9:19 am

Very apt. I don’t recognise the line – where’s it from? (your own?)

Maybe Rossi can start reading the threads on e-catworld.com and see how eager people are to have LENR come to market. I’m Still Waiting.

Miles, it has become rather clear the “reviewers” and Rossi “overseerers” are paralyzed by fear at this point. The lack of disclosure progress has little to do with Dr. Rossi; only the cowardly behavior of the defenders of a decrepit old school, unable to cough up the truth.

New Google Solve for X – Lockheed Skunkworks Working on Compact 100 MW
Nuclear Fusion and targets 2018 for full scale prototype and 2023 for
    Commercial system

Problem: Energy access & climate change

    * world power use is projected to double and a lot of it will come from coal

    * 1.3 billion people have no electricity

Solution: A 100MW compact fusion reactor that runs on plentiful and cheap deuterium and tritium (isotopes of hydrogen).

Instead of the large tokomaks which will take until the mid-2040s or
2050s for the first one and which will be large (30,000 tons) and
expensive have one that fit on a truck. Build on a production line like
    jet engines.

George, please see the facts of who this character is in the next article. Seems even the skunks are getting nervous about LENR.

I was depressed in reading this post about A.R. favorite reading material. It signals that there is a shortage of important news regarding LENR. Well, I will have to discuss this with my therapist …

    • greg on February 19, 2013 at 8:25 pm

yes it is boring, but what about all the other players in the field???

    • AlainCo on February 19, 2013 at 10:18 pm

it is just that serious peoples are busy working for real things. I’m not at all bored those days. Like before an earthquake you see small announces, counter fires, subterranean moves…

be patients… and look at the west.

      • artefact on February 19, 2013 at 10:35 pm

What do you mean by west? America and Canada?

      • GreenWin on February 20, 2013 at 5:12 am

It is the solipsistic and condescending that see others as patients. When in fact the Bard was correct to say, “Physician, heal thy [morbid] self.”

The nuclear reactor in your basement

    • barty on February 19, 2013 at 7:22 pm

I forgot to say: Look into the comment section. There is a very sceptical discussion going on…

    • cx on February 19, 2013 at 11:58 pm

wonder y they are posting that now seems like old info

  8. Bigwilly on February 19, 2013 at 6:31 pm

I wish the guys at Steorn would also post some of favorite reads. It helps us little guys reach for the stars

    • GreenWin on February 19, 2013 at 7:01 pm

Willy, for such a little guy, you invent a “Big” name? Size issues?

    • GreenWin on February 20, 2013 at 8:12 am

Odd that a “little guy” uses such a “Big” name.

  9. sergio on February 19, 2013 at 5:23 pm

but those books were everyone’s favorites :D

stop mocking Rossi, he’s been on TV more times than you!

  10. clovis ray on February 19, 2013 at 4:40 pm

Ahhh, just a little lite reading, before, night night,- smile- it would probably be hard to find things that stimulate such an exceptional mind as Dr. Rossi,
Man, would it not be great to have all the knowledge in those books in memory,

    p.s. great post, Frank

    • stuey81 on February 19, 2013 at 8:06 pm

clovis, why do you refer to him a DR. rossi? – A.R is not a DR!
you should know this with all the years of reaserch youve done in the LENR field! (am smiling)

      • GreenWin on February 20, 2013 at 5:01 am

stuey, try to educate yourself and read below.

    • stuey81 on February 19, 2013 at 8:10 pm

Andrea Rossi was born in 1950 on the 3rd of June, in Milan. In 1973, Rossi graduated in Philosophy at the University of Milan,[5] with a thesis on Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity and its interrelationship with Edmund Husserl’s Phenomenology clovis, rossi isnt a doctor or a professor!

      • Omega Z on February 20, 2013 at 1:53 am

Rossi can be addressed as Dr. Rossi

He has a Doctor’s degree in Philosophy

Just as anyone in the U.S. who obtains a PhD. can be addressed as Dr. XXX

        • GreenWin on February 20, 2013 at 5:00 am

Omega, FYI, EVERY PhD is a “Doctor of Philosophy” as that is what the acronym stands for.

    “Physics Today (favorite scientific journal)”

    a hint ! a hint !

    • Pekka Janhunen on February 19, 2013 at 1:01 pm

PT is not a normal peer-reviewed journal, I think they publish articles by invitation only. Not impossible, but means that PT’s editor would be actively involved.

      • ecatworld on February 19, 2013 at 1:09 pm

Rossi claims not to know where the tests will be published. I would guess that PT, being the main journal of the American Institute of Physics would be of great interest to anyone working in cutting-edge physics fields — so in my mind, probably not a hint.
