Christos Stremmenos on the E-Cat (Video)

October 18, 2011
By

Another video has been released by the mysterious www.ecat.com web site. I say mysterious, because the site has no indication of who owns it, but it must be someone close to Rossi since the filmmakers were at the October 6th demo, and have access to some of the key people involved with it. Also, rather strangely, the site features only the most recent Youtube video that has been produced. To see previous videos, you have to go to the ecatdotcom Youtube channel.

This time it features Christos Stremmenos, former University of Bologna physics professor, former Greek Ambassador to Italy, and Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of Defkalion Green Technologies (maybe that’s ‘former’ also, following some of the public comments Stremmenos has been making about Defkalion). In this video, Stremmenos is reflecting on the breakthrough that Andrea Rossi has been able to achieve, and what its significance is in the world of physics and to the world in genereral. Stemmenos remarks, “This is the first time we are able to use the energy that is usually made on the inside of the stars in a clean and cheap way.”

This is a poor translation from Italian. I thought the subtitles were missing a lot from sheer word volume, but in the last 10 second of the film the Prof clearly uses the term ‘quantum mechanics’ but that term doesnt appear in the subtitles.
Not saying the Prof has been misrepresented, but wondering if any dual English/Italian speakers can comment?

Yes the translation is, in parts, a streamlined version of what he says but the overall meaning doesn’t change. It must be said that Stremmenos is greek and he has a kinda convoluted way of both speaking and writing (at least in italian)

It is ok in general sense, but there is a big mistake:

Stremmenos DID NOT SAY THAT THE CATALYST IS A CHEMICAL SOURCE: the word “CHEMICAL” was added by the translators.

In the end Stremmons did use the term ‘quantum mechanics’, but the general sense is well rendered in the English translation IMHO. Probably the translators assumed that ‘quantum mechanics’ is not a popular term and so they change it into ‘new physics on the micro scale’!!!

Stremmenos speaks Italian very well, and I would not define his way of speaking Italian as “convoluted”: it is well furnished with elegant terms (as “bizantinismi”, for example)…His way of speaking sounds a bit like Walt Disney’s Professor Ludwig von Drake!

Here the last part translated in english:

….. And it’s not the first time that this happens.
In the beginning of the last century, it took an anomaly ” the photo electric effect ” that changed all existing physics knowledge to a new Physic, the Microcosm Physic called “Quantum mechanics”.
