We’re just a few short days away from October 2011 — a month that E-Cat followers have been awaiting with eager anticipation. According to Andrea Rossi, things are progressing smoothly in regards to the scheduled public testing of his E-Cats and the delivery of the first 1 MW plant to the as-yet-unknown customer. Rossi has started to provide some idea of what to expect in October regarding his power plant:
“By half October we will explain exactly what follows:
1- where the 1 MW plant will be tested
2- all the (not confidential) characteristics of the 1MW plant (the complementary part is more reactors, of a new type that in the meantime we have developed)
3- possibly, who is the Customer, if the Customer will allow us to communicate his name.”
He has also provided information about the testing of a single E-Cat unit that will start shortly at the University of Bologna in Italy. He says that selected scientists from various countries have been invited to attend this testing, along with selected scientific journalists (but doesn’t mention who has accepted invitations).
Rossi stated, “On the 7th you should find in the net the report and video of the test of October 6th regarding one cluster of the modules of the 1 MW plant.”
It appears that this test on October 6th is an important part of the unveiling of the E-Cat. It might actually be a more useful demonstration of his invention than the 1 MW plant testing, since those involved in the test will be able to focus their attention on one unit, rather than a multi E-Cat power plant. At any rate, we now have a date to circle on our calendars, and we should soon find out if this event has been worth the wait!

I have been following the developments relating to the E-Cat since the early tests in February, but this is the first time I have been tempted to post. As interest is becoming heightened due the the imminent Swedish single Unit and 1MW plant tests, I have been looking at several sites tied into the E-Cat story, and found that on the Defkalion Green Technologies site they have re-opened the Forum section to new comments and questions, with a response to the opening questioner to the effect that significant announcements are due very shortly…. I haven’t seen this flagged elsewhere, so I thought I would point it out to the readers of this site, as it looks like they are still a player.

Steven Krivet, Rossi’s ardent critic has just posted a blog entry (on his New Energy Times site) in which he now believes NASA actually did test Piantelli’s early work, upon which Rossi’s e-cat techology was built, and that NASA did find an unexplainable heat level. This is the jounalistic equivalent of the Tea Party writing a favorable comment about Obama!

How could NASA possibly find “an unexplainable heat level” and not let the scientific community know that there is something unbelievably major going on here. It is unconscionable. Either NASA didn’t find any explainable heat, or they are idiots of the first order.
The same way the Japanese government can not tell its citizens that three nuclear plants experienced full meltdowns next to their houses, that’s how.
Or, less facetiously, NASA is an agency of the Department of Defense. Discoveries that portend great change (positive or negative–and this one could certainly be construed as negative, depending on your point of view) are not generally announced from rooftops. They are sequestered away and “focus grouped” to death and, more often than not, buried pending “further investigation.”

You will see the following paragraph:
“Tests conducted at NASA Glenn Research Center in 1989 and elsewhere consistently showed evidence of anomalous heat during loading and unloading deuterium into bulk palladium. At one time called “cold fusion,” now called “low-energy nuclear reactions” (LENR), such effects are now published in peer-reviewed journals and are gaining attention and mainstream respectability.”
This is FP type cold fusion as opposed to Rossi, but it is still an “interesting” comment.
